First international feature film jointly directed by an Assamese filmmaker and a foreign director has been selected for the Pune International Film Festival 2026, marking a landmark moment for cinema from Assam. Murders Too Close – Love Too Far, co-directed by Manju Borah and Israeli filmmaker Dan Wolman, will screen in the Global Cinema section on January 17 and 19.
It is the first international co-production involving an Assamese production house and a foreign partner to receive support from the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
