
In a major step towards enhancing India’s carbon markets and decarbonisation efforts, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the Carbon Market Association of India (CMAI) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi. This agreement was announced on February 4, 2025, during the opening session of the IICA-CMAI Masterclass on Global & Indian Carbon Markets. The event featured Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road, Transport & Highways, who emphasized the vital importance of biofuels, green hydrogen, and sustainable energy solutions in shaping the future of India’s economy and environment.
The partnership aims to equip industry professionals, policymakers, and academicians with expertise in navigating India’s evolving carbon markets. The collaboration between IICA and CMAI will emphasize training, research, policy advocacy, and knowledge-sharing to help speed up India’s shift towards a low-carbon economy.
