India and Italy sign Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement to facilitate

India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, held a productive meeting with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, in Rome. The discussions revolved around strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Italy, exploring opportunities in various sectors, and addressing global issues.

1.       During the meeting, both leaders recognized the untapped potential in several key sectors, including agro-tech, innovation, space, defense, and the digital domain.

The leaders also engaged in detailed discussions about global issues, including the situation in West Asia, the conflict in Ukraine, and the evolving Indo-Pacific landscape. This highlights the broad scope of their diplomatic engagement.

Appreciation for Italy’s Support

Dr. Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for Italy’s support of India’s initiatives and its role during the G20 Presidency, reinforcing the positive bilateral relations between the two countries.

Following their talks, both leaders signed two significant agreements: the Mobility and Migration Partnership Agreement and the Cultural Exchange Programme.
