India and the European Union (EU) have jointly launched two critical research calls under the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) to tackle Marine Plastic Litter (MPL) and develop Waste to Green Hydrogen (W2GH) solutions.
With a combined investment of ₹391 crore (~€41 million), the initiatives are aimed at fostering sustainable technologies through international scientific collaboration.
These programs align with the EU’s Zero Pollution Action Plan, India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, and the UN Decade of Ocean Science, and they signify a major boost in the India-EU strategic partnership toward climate action, clean energy, and environmental conservation.
