India launches E-Amrit portal for Electric Vehicles at COP26

The Central government launched ‘E-Amrit’, a web portal on electric vehicles (EVs), at the ongoing COP26 Summit in United Kingdom’s Glasgow on November 10, 2021.

The web portal has been developed by NITI Aayog with support from UK government. E-Amrit is one-stop destination to provide all information regarding electric vehicles.

According to a statement issued by the NITI Aayog, E-Amrit is a one-stop destination for all information on electric vehicles–busting myths around the adoption of EVs, their purchase, investment opportunities, policies and subsidies, among other things to raise awareness about EVs and sensitise consumers on the benefits of switching to electric mobility.
