The General Assembly is taking place in India after 1997. The move was proposed by HM, Amit Shah to Interpol secretary general, Jurgen Stock in August 2019. India joined the INTERPOL in 1949.
Aim of INTERPOL: To promote possible assistance between all criminal police authorities in the prevention and suppression of ordinary law crimes.
