Indian Animated Film Desi Oon Wins Jury Award at Annecy 2025

Indian animated film Desi Oon has won the prestigious Jury Award for Best Commissioned Film at the Annecy International Animation Festival 2025 in France. The festival is widely considered the world’s foremost event for animation. Indisputably the top global event for the animation sector, the film, which has significant roots in Indian culture and visual storytelling, has won many major international awards, positioning India as a contender for prominence in the global Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics, (AVGC-XR) sector.

Desi Oon won the Jury Prize at Annecy 2025 which is one of the highest global accolades in animation. It is directed by Suresh Eriyat who is a pioneer of animation in India. Desi Oon has won numerous international awards and is part of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) archives. These credentials continue to highlight India’s emergence as a major force in the global animation community.
