Indian Industrialist Shri Ratan Tata appointed in ‘Order of Australia’ for distinguished service: Ratan Tata, an Indian industrialist and philanthropist, has been appointed as an Honorary Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AO) for his outstanding contributions to the Australia-India bilateral relationship, particularly in trade, investment, and philanthropy. The announcement was made by Australia’s Governor-General, following a recommendation by Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell.
