He defeated Danilo Dennis Sollazzo from Italy by 17-15. This win helped him to secure 2024 Paris Olympics quota for the country. He is only the second Indian to achieve this feat, after Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, who had won the gold in 2006 in Zagreb, Croatia.
