International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists: 02 November
The International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (IDEI) is an UN-recognized international day observed annually on 2 November.
Purpose: to prevent all attacks and violence against journalists and media workers; to ensure accountability, bring to justice perpetrators of crimes against journalists and media workers, and ensure that victims have access to appropriate remedies.
The date of November 2nd was chosen to mark the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against journalists to commemorate the assassination of French journalists in Mali in 2013.
