
J.B. Dunlop is credited with creating the pneumatic tire, but with specific regard to bicycles, for it has also developed to make tires for other vehicles. Dunlop’s patent was approved in 1888 and was the first designed to make transportation a better experience for those using it. Dunlop’s invention was a huge advancement from the solid rubber tires that preceded it.
