Lodi dynasty

The Lodi dynasty was the last ruling dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate, which reigned from 1451 to 1526. The dynasty was established by Bahlul Lodi, a Pashtun warlord from the Punjab area of modern-day Pakistan. The Lodis were the first Afghans to hold power over the Delhi Sultanate.

  • Bahlul Lodi: Bahlul Khan Lodi was the chief of the Afghan Lodi tribe. He was the founder of the Lodi dynasty from the Delhi Sultanate, upon the abdication of the last claimant from the previous Sayyid rule.

  • Ibrahim Lodi: The last ruler of the Lodi dynasty, who faced a military confrontation with Babur at the Battle of Panipat in 1526.
