The selection committee, chaired bySmt. Sujata Chaturvedi,Secretary (Sports), Government of India, comprised members from previous awardees, industry associations, sports journalists, experts, commentators, Secretary (Sports) of State Government, Indian Olympic Association, and Non-Governmental Organizations actively involved in sports.
Core Awards of India’s National Sports Awards
The ‘Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar’ isone of the six core awards that constitute India’s National Sports Awards.The other five include theMajor Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award(Khel Ratna), theArjuna Award, theDronacharya Award,theMajor Dhyan Chand Award,and theMaulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy, also known as the MAKA Trophy.
