MPLADS Scheme: (Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme)

The Members of Parliament Local Area Development Division is tasked with the implementation of the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS). Under this scheme, each MP can suggest projects worth Rs. 5 Crores each year to the District Collector for their constituency.

Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament can suggest projects in one or more districts from their home state. On the other hand, Nominated Members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have the flexibility to pick any district or districts from any state in the country for their chosen projects under the scheme.

The Ministry has issued guidelines for the MPLADS Scheme, which include details on how to implement and monitor it. The Department is taking all the necessary actions to make sure the scheme is effectively executed in the field.
