The National Science Dayis celebrated on28 Februaryeach year in India to spread the message about the importance of science in the daily life of the people. On this day,Sir CV Ramanhad announced the discovery of theRaman Effectfor which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. The government of India designated 28 February as National Science Day (NSD) in 1986.
