Prime Minister Modi said India’s past, present and future are incomplete without the tribal communities. Mangarh Dham symbolizes the determination and sacrifice of the tribals and added that it is the common heritage of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. About Mangarh
India was fighting against the British and during the freedom struggle the Bhil community and other tribes were also having a long stand off against the British officers. On November 17, 1913, 1.5 lakh Bhils were holding a rally against the British, when the British opened fire on the gathering. The massacre killed 1,500 tribal people.
