About University
Punjab Agricultural University is one of the oldest Agricultural University in India. It is the first state agricultural university (SAU) in India for research, education, and extension in India. The university has played a pivotal role in making the country self-sufficient in food grain production and is also known as “Mother of Green Revolution”. Located in Ludhiana city (Punjab State) at a distance of 316 km from New Delhi, University is spread over a spacious campus and is recognized by the University Grants Council UGC. The University currently has 28 departments and 4 constituent colleges. The college has excellent infrastructural facilities with state-of-the-art libraries, laboratories, mess facilities and hostels. It has been honoured with several awards for its contribution to agriculture in the country.
