SEBI gives nod to Sundararaman Ramamurthy as MD and CEO of BSE: BSE Ltd on Monday said that it received consent from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to appoint Sundararaman Ramamurthy as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of the exchange. His appointment is subject to the approval of the shareholders, BSE said in an exchange filing.

The top position was vacant since July when Ashishkumar Chauhan, who stepped down as the chief executive of BSE. His appointment is subject to the approval of the shareholders. At present, he is the chief operating officer of the India arm of Bank of America Corp, and has previously worked as a senior vice president at NSE.
BSE had earlier said that an executive management committee of the exchange will be running its affairs till the appointment of the new MD and CEO.
