The Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (SVAYEM) Scheme is a key initiative by the Government of Assam aimed at providing financial assistance to the youth in the state. This support helps them engage in income-generating activities across various sectors, including manufacturing, trading, and services. The program was officially launched in 2017.
The government is rolling out the updated SVAYEM Scheme, which will provide Rs. 50,000 to each of 2 lakh young people to foster entrepreneurship. Interested candidates can fill out the online application or registration form for the Assam SVAYEM Scheme.
This scheme was previously run by the Department of Industries & Commerce in Assam, but this year (2020), the State Finance Department will take charge, with assistance from other nodal agencies.
