Tamil Nadu CM launches logo and mascot of 44th Chess Olympiad

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched the official logo and mascot of the 44th Chess Olympiad.

The mascot is names as ‘Thambi’ and is a knight dressed in the traditional Tamil attire Veshti (Dhoti) with a shirt and is seen with folded hands, apparently extending the Tamil greeting ‘Vanakkam’.

Chess Believe is written on its shirt. It is the 2nd major international chess event to be hosted by Chennai, after World Championship match in 2013.
