
The48th DG conferencewas held between India’sBorder Security Force
(BSF)and theBorder Guard
Bangladesh (BGB).It was
concluded on 15 June atDhaka, Bangladesh.A Joint Record of Discussion was signed
byDG, BSF, Rajni Kant Mishra and DG, BGB, Major General Md Shafeenul
Islam.
Agreement
included:
BothBSF abd BGBagreed toundertake joint effortsto bring down the killing incidents tozero by increasing
coordinated patrolsin
vulnerable areas tocattle and narcotics smuggling, educating border
populationabout
the sanctity of International Border (IB) and preventing criminals from
crossing the IB.
Both sides also agreedto pursue and share
real-time informationincluding
a preliminary questioning report as applicable about the persons apprehended
with smuggled items.
The two Border guard forces also agreed to
declare new areas as crime free zone in phases of which proposed area withinSarail region or
Tripura Frontiermay be
formalised in the first phase.
Thenext DG level conferencewill be held inNew Delhiduring thefirst week of November 2019.
