World Economic Outlook

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) releases the World Economic Outlook (WEO), a detailed report that analyzes global economic trends, projections, and policies. Typically, the WEO is published twice a year, in April and October, and may include interim updates as required.
The most recent WEO, released in January 2025, presents the following key projections:
Global Growth: The global economy is expected to grow by 3.3% in both 2025 and 2026, which is a bit below the historical average of 3.7% from 2000 to 2019. This forecast hasn’t changed much since the October 2024 WEO, with an increase for the United States balancing out decreases in other major economies.
Inflation: Global headline inflation is projected to drop to 4.2% in 2025 and then to 3.5% in 2026, getting back to target levels sooner in advanced economies compared to emerging markets and developing economies.
