Rs. 9,000

Sol:

X, Y and Z invested Rs. 4,000, Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 8,000 respectively in a business.

They invested the money for 3, 2 and 4 years respectively.

Total profit = Rs. 56000 Formula used:

Profit = Investment × Time Period

Calculation:

Profit of X = 4000 × 3 = Rs. 12000

Profit of Y = 6000 × 2 = Rs. 12000

Profit of Z = 8000 × 4 = Rs. 32000

Y’s share = [Y’s profit/(X + Y + Z)’s profit] × 56000

Y’s share = [12000/56000] × 56000 = Rs. 12000
