The role of India in the UN system is huge and ever-increasing. For decades, India supported the ideals of universal human rights and worked hard to build up a strong economy and market economy despite hardships and hardships. India has participated actively in meetings and committees of the UN since its inception. In the past few years, India has made a strong push for even greater participation and betterment of the UN system through comprehensive reforms in its work, including on major budgetary issues like peacekeeping budgets.
The United Nations (UN) is the most powerful International Organisation that ever existed in the history of mankind. 193 members of the UN have participated and contributed their part to make the UN a truly global organization. The powers vested in the UN Charter facilitate the United Nations to take action on a variety of global issues such as peace, security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, humanitarian and health emergencies, global governance, food production, etc.
