Bahauddin Zakariya Suhrawardi was the leading Sufi saint of his time in North Western India and belonged to well known Suhrawardi silsila. For fifteen years he went from place to place to preach Islam and after his wanderings settled in Multan in 1222. He died in 1267 and his mausoleum is located at Multan.
