Arinjeeta Dey from Bengal wins medal for India in World Karate Championship in Croatia

Village girl from West Bengal Arinjeeta Dey has made India proud when she won a silver medal under the 12 category in the Karate World Championship held between July 1 to 5 at Umag in Croatia, according to President of Karate-Do- Association for Bengal Hanshi Premjit Sen.

Ten-year-old girl from Barasat in North 24 Parganas Arinjeeta Dey won the silver medal in “World Youth Cup” organised by World Karate Federation affiliated to International Olympic Association. Altogether 35 countries had participated in this competition.

Sen, the coach of Arinjeeta Dey, said the girl had won 3 times winner in national championship junior level category and has tremendous agility in unarmed combat sport. (UNI)
