Hastividyārnava –  illustrated manuscripts

Sukumar Barkaith’s Hastividyārnava is one of the most recognized illustrated manuscripts in Assam. Commissioned under the patronage of King Siva Singha and his queen consort Ambika, it deals with the management and care of elephants in the royal stables.

The illustration work for the medieval Assamese text, “Hastividyārnava,” was done by the artists Dilbar and Dosai.
