
The Centre is set to roll out over 500 data laboratories throughout India, aiming to boost artificial intelligence (AI) talent and infrastructure. This announcement came from Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during a pre-event for the AI Impact Summit 2026. This initiative is a crucial part of the ambitious Rs 10,300 crore IndiaAI Mission, which seeks to cultivate homegrown AI capabilities and lessen reliance on international models.
