✓- Usually, the local retailers used to promote sale of products of certain companies or fertiliser brands which offered them higher commission, making it difficult for farmers to get soil nutrients of best quality, and farmers often ended up spending more to buy fertilisers of popular brands.
✓Under this scheme, farmers would be able to procure soil nutrients at less cost and high quality.
✓In the biggest move in fertiliser sector, all subsidised soil nutrients — urea, Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP), Muriate of Potash (MoP) and NPK — are to be marketed under a single brand ‘Bharat’ across the nation.
✓This is an effort towards putting an end to the misconceptions among farmers that certain brands of fertilisers are better than others.
