
Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) is a Government of India initiative that is intended to make improvements to the agriculture and allied sectors via a scheme of potential strength. The Government of India created this scheme with the intention to make agriculture more remunerative by:
- Increasing access to quality inputs
- Reducing the risks for farmers
- Providing the opportunity for entrepreneurship for farmers in agriculture and allied sector
- Providing the flexibility for the States to frame a scheme and its implementation taking into consideration the local situation, the demands of the market, and needs of the agricultural community
RKVY-RAFTAAR objectives: create an agri-business ecosystem, to provide financial assistance to potential agristartups, stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture and allied sectors, and to attract youth to agriculture
RKVY-RAFTAAR components: - Agri-infrastructure for pre- and post-harvest
- Agri-entrepreneurship to provide financial assistance and incubate startups
- Skill development to empower youth through skill development
- Value chain addition which promotes the production models that underpin farmers income
RKVY-RAFTAAR schemes implementation
There is one implementing Agency under this scheme which is the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DA&FW). The DA&FW has appointed Knowledge Partners as well as Agribusiness Incubators for the implementation of the scheme.
