First ever Ice climbing festival celebrated in Nubra valley

The Seven Day event was organized by Nubra Adventure Club. Ice climbing is a popular winter sport abroad.

Taking the cue, local adventure sports lovers have explored several ice climbing spots in Nubra valley to attract the adventure tourists to the region.

Nubra is a subdivision and a tehsil in the union territory of Ladakh.

Its inhabited areas form a tri-armed valley cut by the Nubra and Shyok rivers.

The Shyok River meets the Nubra River (or Siachan River) to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. The Shyok river is a tributary of the Indus river.
