Daily Current Affairs Article 22nd December 2020: To mark the Visva Bharati's 100 years, it should be an effort to renew Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's ideas from this institution, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Visva-Bharati is a public research central university and an Institution of National Importance.

It is located in Santiniketan, West Bengal.

It was founded in 1921 by Rabindranath Tagore who called it Visva-Bharati, which means the communion of the world with India.

Until independence it was a college. Soon after independence, the institution was given the status of a central university in 1951 by an act of the Parliament.
