Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a newly designed web page for ‘Drone Olympics’ (https://aeroindia.gov.in/Drone) on 28 December 2018. The event is scheduled to be held at ‘Aero India – 2019’ from 20-24 February 2019 at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. The web page is open for registration of UAV players interested in taking part in the maiden event of Aero India.

The Maharashtra State Cabinet approved the implementation of a ‘Women Safety Initiative scheme’ at a cost of Rs.252 crore. The initiative comes under the Centre’s Nirbhaya scheme, started in 2013 to enhance women’s safety. The Central government has approved implementation of the scheme under the Safe City Project to curb atrocities against women in public places.
